About Us

ASM Culinary Equipment represents a select roster of commercial food service equipment manufacturers in the DMV.

We combine exceptional product knowledge, a half century of experience and a tailored approach for every client. Our goal is to achieve the best application for performance, durability and efficiency with an eye on our client’s budget.

We choose our partners carefully. As privately held companies, our manufacturers take great pride in their products as well as their companies and we share their passion for their products and our customers.

Meet Our Team

Jim Day

Jim Day

Founding Principal

With four decades of experience ranging from dealer to consultant to manufacturer’s rep, Jim founded ASM in 2002 with a focus on product knowledge and engineering. He uses this knowledge to educate specifiers and to achieve the best solution for the end-user’s application and budget.

Although he has lived in Maryland with his wife Karen for more than 40 years, he still clings to his Texas roots. A graduate of the University of Texas, Jim enjoys swimming, cooking, music, and traveling.

Graham Day

Graham Day

President

With more than 20 years of experience in the business including front and back end, management, and concept development, Graham has spent the last 14 years as a manufacturer’s rep. Graham’s culinary and technical knowledge has allowed him to work closely with numerous chefs in the territory implementing specialized equipment on many high-profile projects in the DMV.

Graham surprised his Dad in 2006 by joining ASM following graduation from St. Mary’s College of MD. It didn’t take long for the equipment bug to take hold and he still has the fever to this day.

Graham and Arianna live in southern Maryland with their three kids, chickens, and tortoise, Fiona. He enjoys being a family man, grilling on his Kamado with an IPA in hand, camping, fishing or just hanging out near the water.

Doug Devries

Doug Devries

Territory Manager/Virginia

Doug has lived in Virginia for almost 30 years after moving from Maryland to attend Old Dominion University. He has spent his career building his expertise in all aspects of the restaurant industry, from serving and bartending to both front and back of house management. Doug’s leadership has elevated struggling restaurants into ones that thrive, and he looks forward to partnering with his clients to source the right equipment solutions for their needs.

When not working, Doug can be found cheering on his son at wrestling matches and daughter at dance competitions. Doug and his family love boating and traveling – especially Disney World and the Caribbean.

Chef Sed Crawley

Chef Sed Crawley

Corporate Chef, Sales Associate Metro Washington, DC/Baltimore

Meet Chef Sed, the culinary connoisseur turned pitchman with a penchant for imparting wisdom in the kitchen and the boardroom alike. With a flair for flambéing and a knack for negotiating, Chef Sed found himself trading in his toque blanche for a salesman’s suit, blending the art of cooking with the science of sales. If you’re in the market for a sales pitch that’s as deliciously persuasive as it is entertaining, be prepared to leave with a belly full of laughter and a newfound skill or two because, with Chef Sed, every interaction is a recipe for success, served with a side of humor.

Amie Collins

Amie Collins

Customer Service Coordinator

Amie joins ASM with more than a decade of culinary experience – starting with an apprentice program focused on baking, she also spent time working the line, catering, and in kitchen management as well. Her true niche is in baking and pastries and she continues that interest as an avocation. Following her time in food service, Amie spent eight years with a major retailer in management and HR and developed a true understanding of customer service. During that time, she had a major role in three major store renovations allowing significant experience in the planning and execution of construction processes. Amie’s combined food service and retail history provides an ideal skill set for the coordination of food service equipment procurement for our customers.

Amie lives in southern MD with her daughter, granddaughter, two dogs and a cat. She enjoys cooking, baking and DIY home projects.
